Sep 2024 - Tropical Rainforest Industry Impact (TRII) Index Whitepaper

Tropical rainforests have a disproportionate effect on Earth’s climate and environment; yet no formalized system has been adopted to evaluate the real-world impact individual corporations have on tropical rainforests, whether positive or negative. To fill this key knowledge gap, Rainforest Partnership developed the Tropical Rainforest Industry Impact (TRII) Index to gauge the integrity and effectiveness of corporate practices and their reporting concerning deforestation and rainforest conservation. There is no stable climate future without healthy tropical rainforests. By fostering cross-sector collaboration and greater corporate transparency, the TRII index aims to direct corporations to provide integrated reporting focused on these critical ecosystems.
