Rainforest Partnership is happy to share our newest publication about our Tropical Rainforest Industry Impact (TRII) Index. As a Knowledge Partner for Futur/io Institute’s 2024 North American CSO Awards, we have unveiled our TRII Index–an effort we've been quietly pursuing for a number of years through various avenues of research–to the public.
The awards ceremony, highlighting the hard work and dedication of the top Chief Sustainability Officer’s (CSOs) in North America, as determined through efforts by Futur/io, their partners, and the grand jury, will take place in New York City during Climate Week. We eagerly anticipate discussing our TRII Index at the CSO Awards to begin gathering input and to improve our methodology through dialogue with those in attendance.
Tropical rainforest conservation must be a high priority for us all. There are no climate solutions available capable of doing what rainforests do for our planet, our water, and our air to sustain life on Earth. A world without rainforests would be much hotter, drier, and less resilient than the world we live in today.
Our TRII Index is designed to build a landscape where companies and rainforests thrive together and to support corporations in their transition to a forest-positive future. As the TRII Index continues to evolve, our primary goal is to being greater clarity and direction to corporations working to support tropical rainforests and a world where drivers of deforestation are actively removed from supply-chains and practices.
We stand behind our commitment to build on this initial TRII Index, improving our scoring methodology by advocating for stronger corporate data reporting systems and bringing greater awareness. Through collaboration with corporations, dedicated individuals, and our nonprofit and indigenous and local community partners, we at Rainforest Partnership welcome your feedback, perspectives and suggestions for improving the TRII Index.
