Rainforest Partnership is excited to announce the launch of our 12th annual Films for the Forest competition! This year, we hope to expand our global reach as we hear from new storytellers around the world.‍

‍'Inspire Hope' is the theme for 2021: Your vision of hope for the rainforests, hope for our climate future, or hope for your community, we want to see it!

With so many in-person events moving to online platforms, the Films for the Forest team is excited to hold an Earth Day Anniversary screening as we did this past spring in order for all participants to experience the entire programming. Over 3,000 people across 6 continents saw the 2020 livestream, and we aim to reach an even larger audience in 2021 as we make the streaming more accessible. With film experts Richard Linklater and Oona Chaplin already locked in to be our film judges, this competition season will be the biggest yet!

Bringing our film contest to a wider audience

One way that we are making Films for the Forest (F3) more accessible is creating a kid-friendly F3 reel to showcase the importance of rainforests at elementary schools as an educational tool. We also plan to inspire an even larger audience this year by curating reels for climate conferences, festivals, streaming services, you name it!

So, what are you waiting for? Grab your camera and show the world what you have seen, what you believe in, and how you want to inspire hope! You can learn more about the competition and how to submit your film at the Films for the Forest website. All updates about the 2021 competition will also be on our Instagram page.
